Stoking the Fire, Together

To stoke the fire is to pursue something brighter. To fuel the intrinsic drive of humans through taking some weight off their shoulders. To alleviate discomfort, to do what can be done.

At Thi, the fire is stoked by helping people in the local communities of Northern Tamilnadu through facilitating events and gathering volunteers to help with our cause. Whether it be through a blood drive, prosthetic donations, or helping the community through installing necessary infrastructure, Thi seeks to stoke fire.

Thi ran a blood drive where 30 people donated 450 milliliters of blood (one unit); that’s 13.5 liters we collected for the Sri Narayani Hospital. All of that went directly to the hospital after Thi vetted every donor, making sure that the donors didn’t have bloodborne diseases and that the sample size had a variety of blood types.

About Thi

Thi is a 501(c)(3) that stands to facilitate the development of the underserved communities in Northern Tamilnadu. The name “Thi” itself comes from the fire that Tamilnadu inspires in the hearts of anyone who visits, anyone who comes through and attempts to understand its intricacies.

Thi has its subtitle, “Stoking the Fire,” for a reason. Stoking the fire symbolizes keeping something alive, to even enhance it. By organizing and participating in activities that work to help the community, we stoke the fire.

Thi is meant to help those underserved in Tamilnadu by promoting equity regardless of physical or socioeconomic conditions. It plays this role through various forms of community help that all relate to health. Without the health of the community, there can be no hope. Helping out those who can’t afford to help themselves is stoking the fire.
